The purpose of the book was to briefly present what we discussed with fourth year students of cultural studies at the Faculty of Philosophy of Sofia University St. Kliment Ohridsky in the year 1994/95. As I mentioned in the last lines of the previous edition, these colleagues of mine provided the occasion by sharing their doubts about what hermeneutics was; apparently these doubts were not resolved at that time by the authors I recommended they should read. I presume the doubts are still not resolved for anyone of them, just as they are not for me; for the great authors, who should not under any circumstances be citizens of a country that is always striving to improve its climate, are great precisely because of the disturbing question they raise: why actually are they such as they are?
